 Ok, here is a clearer summary:

 When navigating through this website, the forward- and back-button drop-
 downs disappear.

 To induce this behavior:
  1) On *this* page, click on the link to bug 5762.[[br]]
  2) Press the back button.[[br]]
  3) Roll over the forward button. The drop-down menu has
 disappeared.[[br]]

 Open a new instance of browse, and navigate back to this page.  Do the
 following:
  1) On *this* page, click on the link to bug 5762.[[br]]
  2) On page for 5762, click on the link to bug 5764[[br]]
  3) On page for 5764, click on the link to bug 5761[[br]]
  4) Roll over the back button.  The drop-down menu has disappeared.[[br]]
  5) Press the back button once.[[br]]
  5) Roll over the forward button.  The drop-down menu has *not*
 disappeared.[[br]]
  6) Press the back button once more.[[br]]
  7) Roll over the forward button.  The drop-down menu has now
 disappeared.[[br]]

 This bug was reproduced on joyride-1489.
