 Cold to warm: severe but very temporary condensation on the outside

 Warm to cold: minor long-term condensation on the inside (trapped humid
 air with no way to escape)

 Being almost waterproof, but not perfectly waterproof, sounds like a
 recipe for trouble.

 Perhaps something is getting left on the boards during manufacture.
 Perhaps bits of the conductive material are floating around loose in the
 keyboards. It could chip off later too.
