 I'm having a similar problem.  Sometimes the SD card works and sometimes
 it doesn't.

 It seems like there are two cases that fail.  First case is if the SD card
 doesn't go in smoothly, like if I slip when pressing it in, or if I don't
 push it in far enough to click.

 The 2nd case is when I engage the SD card 'lock'.  This is a PNY SD card
 that has a little yellow slider that says lock next to it.  Not sure what
 the lock does.

 Once the card fails, it seems like rebooting is the only action to get it
 un-wedged.
