Comment:

 I think that the first row of pixels disappearing is happening often, and
 I don't think it's limited to Sugar.  It's quite obvious when it happens
 on the Linux tty.

 Mitch, I think a good test case would be an OFW recipe to draw different
 color pixels on the first few rows of the display (perhaps this already
 exists in some unrelated form), so that we could easily tell whether we
 are seeing the first row disappear or not.

 Since I think I've seen this on both the tty and in X, I'm worried that it
 could be the fault of the kernel driver, DCON itself or LCD panel.
