I'm not registered with your bug tracking system, but I do have info
about bug 5580.

This is almost certainly related to the mime-type for turtle art. Kept
turtle art is currently given a mime type of: application/x-tar
according to TurtleArtActivity.py. So that would explain the tar
confusion. However, that will not solve the problem as there does not
appear to be any registered mime type for turtle art, so the journal
doesn't know what to do with a ta type. In my local copy I changed
TurtleArtActivity.py to use application type application/x-ta and added
a corresponding "mime-types = application/x-ta" line to the
activity.info file for turtle art. I am sure this is not sufficient as
I do not fully understand how the journal uses mime types, etc, but for
me it is at least functional. I guess if you don't fix it in the next
update, my changes will get clobbered.
Despite these changes, copying the "kept" turtle art journal entry to
the clipboard will not allow me to open the file (from the clipboard).
The clipboard still seems to think it is a tar file.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
