 Wolfgang,

 This problem is not new and is indeed caused by Clooper. You need to
 understand that if TamTam can run at all on a low-powered machine like the
 XO, a consideable amount of voodoo needs to be done when connecting with
 the audio drivers. This is to do with timing issues more than pure audio
 performance. Python timers are extremely unstable for music purposes and
 time has to be kept at a lower level: hence Clooper. Clooper solves the
 problem for the XO because it is fine tuned to the specific audio hardware
 of the XO. Problems arise on other hardware because settings of local
 hardware and Clooper are out of sync, causing end of buffer conditions
 that generate periodic clicks. This is a thorny problem on which we have
 spent a considerable amount of time. We thought it was solved in the last
 builds.. but apprently not..  We will investigate.
