Comment:

 I've attached a small patch to Presence Service (and pushed to PS git
 master) which adds a delay before setting the buddy's current activity.
 When manually applied to my XOs, it does the trick. It is a hack, but we
 are already doing this in buddy.py for other properties so I think this is
 reasonable for Update.1 given that it's not very intrusive.

 However, with that in place I find that the second participant's icon
 vanishes from mesh view rather than being placed on the left of the
 activity - and reappears when that buddy leaves the activity. I presume
 that's a Sugar UI issue, so reassigning back to rwh.

 If this PS patch is considered for Update.1, please ask daf to make a
 Presence Service snapshot and herd it through the approval process.
