 I attached the timings I was concerned with: 'import
 sugar.activity.activity' in places which don't need to instantiate
 Activity (bundlebuilder, Pippy 'keep as activity', etc) took 5.3 seconds;
 the patch brought this down to .85 seconds.  But the real motiviation for
 this bug (as shown by the title) was to address the error messages
 emitted.  I will attach a minimal patch which fixes the error messages
 without addressing the rest of the 'import world at top' issues.
