 FWIF I can report that an old WRT54G V1.0 firmware V3.01.3 works with the
 XO as expected.  It connects and doesn't cause the AP to fall over.

 Also works as expected with a D-Link pocket router/AP DWL-G730AP in AP
 mode, although the first connect attempt causes the entire "neighborhood"
 screen to go blank until a reboot.  2nd attempt (after reboot) worked OK.

 I realize that "works OK" doesn't add much to the conversation.  It does
 look like more than one Linksys model router has issues - but not all.

 Let me know if I can do anything else.
