On my G1G1 XO, the servers in /etc/ntp.conf are wrong. They are given as
0.pool.fedora.ntp.org, 1.pool.fedora.ntp.org, and 2.pool.fedora.ntp.org.
(Or maybe it's "0.fedora.pool.ntp.org" and so on.)
Those servers don't exist.
The correct names are 0.pool.ntp.org, 1.pool.ntp.org, and 2.pool.ntp.org.
With those changes, you can run ntpd and be sure that the time is correct,
assuming that you've set the time zone:
/sbin/service ntpd start
