 Actually, it sounds like the sugar team prefer cscott's proposal in the
 first paragraph of http://dev.laptop.org/ticket/4909#comment:31 , which
 has the advantage of removing the inconvenience from ebook-reader launches
 too.  This bug doesn't mind which solution gets implemented.  :)
