That's the only safe way to do it anyway.
The EC has no way to control RTC wakeups - that magic all happens inside
the southbridge. the EC can control the power button, but Richard tells
me that isn't a trivial matter.

For the umpteenth time, the MFGPT timers can't wake from suspend. The
only wakeup timer that comes in the Geode circuitry is the RTC.
