The problem in this case is that Acoustic Tape Measure does recording in
an independent subprocess. When the activity is stopped during recording,
Sugar closes the main activity process, but does not close child
processes. Sugar/Rainbow/Bitfrost should terminate all other child
processes, but this clearly has not been implemented.
Until this is fixed in Rainbow, I cannot completely resolve the problem.
However, I can improve the situation by setting a timeout on the
recording. A 15- or 20-second timeout would substantially improve the
situation.
