 The new mesh protocol does indeed detect people leaving. What i'm not sure
 is fixed is whether:
   0) On shutdown salut is properly signnalled to disconnect, allowing it
 to gracefully announce
      to others that it's going away.
   1) If salut's disconnection process actually waits long enough to ensure
 all muc's are properly
      disconnected (That is send various BYE packets)

 If both of those are fixed and a XO is shutdown, other nodes will almost
 instantanously see you leave (Assuming reasonable network conditions). If
 not then it might take up to 5 minutes before others will see you leave.
 Which is still a lot better then the never in the old (pre-Ship.2)
 protocol
