Comment:

 Patch to fix issue 1.

 I tried issue 2 as well, but have some difficulties due to spurious focus-
 in-events to the main window. We focus to the search-entry then to make
 sure it gets focus when we activate the journal. If anybody has a clue how
 to do this better...
