 I see.  Like for measuring the length of a road.

 I think even better would be logging, with a button "Log this distance".
 Ideally, the log would be a spreadsheet widget. "Keep" would make objects
 that resume into a full spreadsheet activity, where computations could be
 done.  Unfortunately, there is no such activity.

 I might be able to cobble something together anyway.  It's mostly a UI
 challenge, to make it sensible.
