 I don't like "Acoustic Tape Measure" either.  "Distance" sounds pretty
 good to me.

 According to the HIG, names are supposed to be verbs.  "Measure Distance"
 would fit that scheme, but it's longer.

 Then there's the whole issue of translating names.  It seems the
 translators have often been skipping the names, since it's not obvious
 what to do with them.

 If you have a strong name preference, I will change it.
