Ouch.
Javier, Ronak, I want you to understand the issue....
We know we will be going into harsh physical environments (e.g. salt air
by the ocean), and are looking for/intending to build a sealed school
server, where air is kept out of the machine and away from the connectors
to the system (think of rubber gaskets that the cables go through on their
way out of the overall box). Replugging USB cables isn't a good answer.
And these systems will be remotely upgraded, and must not require a power
cycle for proper operation (which would require manual intervention: we
can't afford remotely managed power supplies).
So we really have to be able to reinit the firmware reliably if at all
possible.b
