 Two kids sitting next to each other should see roughly the same mesh view
 (except for their own position, which is always centered).  Similarly, AP
 and friend locations shouldn't change when I reboot the XO.  Both the
 color and the location of the icons (access points, meshes, friends)
 should be deterministic and based on a hash of the icon properties (ESSID,
 friend name).  Hash modulo the number of colors gives the color, hash
 modulo the screen x and y dimensions gives the positions, with a little
 bit of touching up to prevent overlap.

 I'm tired of hunting for my access point every time I boot the XO.
 Apparently the access point and mesh colors are tied to the colors of the
 particular XO, so I don't even know what color they will be.
