 Pulseaudio made it in Fedora 8 and had a lot of improvements lately. Two
 of our main issues have been addressed
 (http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Pulseaudio#Open_Issues). With using speex
 resampler you can configure pulse's resampler to do either float or fixed.
 As well the audio device is released when PA is idle by now.

 Pulseaudio might be an option for the sound server task. I will do some
 testing with the latest code to see how it performs on the XO.
