 Oh, I thought that was what you meant by expanding/contracting the icon to
 fit the badge.  Can we overlay the badge instead of embedding it inside
 the other icon?  It really needs to be offset from the base icon
 itself...otherwise it will obstruct the icon it's badging.  Alternatively,
 you could have a separate icon class for icons with badges, which have
 different padding rules...
