 I had the camera activity open then loaded tamtam.  I then played a few
 instruments and went to the microphone record box.  However pressing
 record wouldn't turn the microphone light on or record.  Restarting X made
 it work again.  This has happened on three separate occasions, but when I
 tried to repeat it last the microphone worked.
