The hardware doesn't work that way. Battery voltage is mostly constant
(7V down to 5V) after 5V things go critial and the voltage rolloff is
exponential. Rather than slow down the laptop would just die. The EC is
supposed to turn off the battery just prior to it entering into this
stage.
I can't think of any hardware type of thing (in our laptop) that would
cause this. Perhaps some sort of process that goes crazy when the battery
gets low and chews up cpu?
I need an accurate metric that correlates this problem to the battery
level.
