 The NAND flash thing will be a red herring -- it's just erasing the blocks
 which weren't correctly marked as clean when the image was flashed. That
 should be fixed in current builds, with current OpenFirmware.

 The slowness after loading the web page is likely to be gnash eating CPU.
 It's very prone to doing that; I've got into the habit of typing 'killall
 gnash' whenever my (significantly more powerful) machines are crawling.
 Going to that web page now, for example, gives me 98% CPU usage between
 gnash and the X server, and I hear the fans start to ramp up...
