 Nah, what you saw in the console was simply the mouse incorrectly set.  By
 default in X, it's the same way (small movements make the cursor go very
 far), but we correct that in X.  What I saw was jerkiness without moving
 my finger; simply lifting my finger off the touchpad and putting it back
 down would make the cursor fly across the screen.
