Comment:

As mentioned above, parts of this are really essential for the base
interaction model. Here's my thoughts on each part (not in the order
 listed above...)

 2. This already happens, which is good. Keep it. We talked about making
the search icon in the left of the entry a button having the same action.
I think we can skip that, honestly. We'll just wait until we can modify
the entry to embed the checkbox at the right.

 3. This is ''really'' important. It's wholly unintuitive to perform a
"null" search in order to get back to the full list view. We also talked
about adding a clear button (with a little 'x') in the right of the entry
field to do this. I think this is a fantastic idea. That button should
be mapped to the esc key. Even if we ''don't'' have time to embed the
icon, let's at least map the escape key to this clearing function. In all
cases, invoking the clear on the view the instant the entry clears is
 essential.

 1. This is the truly incremental part. I don't think we need live
incremental search at this point, both because it's more work and takes
more energy. I think we ''do'' still want the first part of the above
spec though, which states that after some delay ''t'' with no typing a
search will be triggered automatically. This will make sure that
something happens even if they don't know to hit enter (and since there is
currently no check button to press).

So, long story short: (2) is done for now, (3) is critical, and the non-
incremental portion of (1) would be really fantastic if at all possible.
