 This is an EC problem.

 The battery status indicators in current EC code is broken. I haven't
 checked NMH batteries but its certainly incorrect for LFP batteries.
 There are several cases where charging is not cleared properly.  We need
 to review the code that sets and clears the bits that indicate
 charging/discharging and full for both batteries from both manufacturers.
