 Bog-standard netgear access point, no encryption, 802.11b/g.

 /var/log/messages is attached -- it seems to get through all the steps,
 but the triangle never shows up as connected in the home view, and
 ifconfig never shows correct configuration.

 What seems to happen is that everything works, but NetworkManager never
 notices that it worked, and so immediately sets off to "try again".
 However, I'm not an expert: perhaps something more subtle is going on.
