 I'm not a xulrunner developer, but if I had to discover how big of a
 problem is image scaling in Browse and which code paths are involved, I
 would install the debug package for xulrunner in the xo, and then profile
 with sysprof.

 My guess is that you'll find some ops in the cairo copy bundled inside
 xulrunner. A quick glance to lxr.mozilla.org should show you how these
 funcs are called and making a simpler test case should be easy from there.

 I think I'll be able to give it a shot after Trial3 code freeze.
