#2863: autoreinstallation backup fails if NAND is empty
-------------------------------+--------------------------------------------
 Reporter: wmb at firmworks.com | Owner: cscott

 Priority:  normal             |   Milestone:  Untriaged
Component:  distro             |     Version:

 I tried olpc-auto.zip 2007-08-15 20:23Z  (using OS build 542 and my latest
 OFW which is the release candidate for Q2C24) with the NAND FLASH empty.

 The process blew up at the backup stage:

 {{{
 Skipping from ignore list: /home/olpc/Library

 chroot: cannot execute tar: No such file or directory
 Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "/init", line 83, in <module>
     do_backup()
   File "/init", line 42, in do_backup
     usbupgrade.performbackup()
   File "/usbupgrade.py", line 88, in performbackup
     assert rc == 0, "Backup failed, rc: %s" % rc
 AssertionError: Backup failed, rc: 1
 >>>
 }}}

 Here is are the steps I used to trigger this failure:

 {{{
 ok select /nandflash  wipe unselect
 ok flash u:\q2c21.rom
 <power off>
 <insert USB key with olpc-auto.zip files and os542.{rom,crc} and q2c23.rom
 on it>
 <The q2c23.rom is actually q2c23y in a file named q2c23.rom>

 <power on>
 -- Firmware updates as expected
 <power off, remove battery and AC>
 <power on>

 -- Boots into linux but fails in the backup step, as above
 }}}
