they'll know it exists. It should be relatively easy to find, since
corners are easy to hit when exploring the screen for the first time.
Also, this is another case where the "if 1 in 40 kids finds it..."
argument can certainly apply. Once they know where it is, it's always
 easy to get to.

I guess all that I'm saying is... We tried it already and it didn't work
in practice. People running sugar for the first time was *very* confused
about it. A lot of them was just unable to get anything done and thought
 it was not working.

What makes us think this time things will go differently? Sure most of the
developers knows about the frame so we will likely get less bad feedback
about it but that doesn't mean the problem is gone.

I'm not convinced any of the tweak proposed will make a huge difference.
The frame key on the keyboard might help though.

 > The problem with keeping it visible at Home all the time is that it
seems to imply that it's ''only'' available at Home, which is more of a
concern to me than finding it in the first place.

"It should be relatively easy to find, since corners are easy to hit" :)

So, not a big deal IHMO. I don't see any need to force people to discover
it *before* they can get anything done. They will find out pretty soon
 when playing with the machine.

Anyway, if you really think we should try the out the old behavior again,
it's probably easy to make it configurable in the code. I guess we can try
to analyze the problem better now that we can get feedback from the field.
