#2818: OFW mounts JFFS2 slowly if NAND has random data
---------------------------------+------------------------------------------
Reporter: wmb at firmworks.com | Owner: wmb at firmworks.com
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: high | Milestone: Untriaged
Component: ofw - open firmware | Version: OFW development version
Keywords: | Verified: 0
---------------------------------+------------------------------------------
If the NAND FLASH contains random data that is neither erased (all FF) nor
valid JFFS2 nodes, OFW takes an extremely long time to scan it.
The problem is that OFW searches the entire NAND surface hoping to find
JFFS2 nodes; it would be better to give up quickly if an erase block has
no valid nodes near the beginning.
