Comment (by dwmw2):

I have found a consumer access point (Buffalo Airstation WHR-HP-G54) which
allows the multicast rate to be configured. There are probably others, but
this one seems to work. Again, I get relatively reliable sending at
 11Mb/s.

There is an image suitable for putting on a USB stick, at
 http://david.woodhou.se/olpc-nandcast.tar.gz

It will boot, associate with the network 'OLPCSENDER', erase the flash and
wait to receive an image streamed to ff0f:114 port 12345. This is simple
enough to tweak, in the /init script.

To extract the initrd.img, 'mkdir foo ; cd foo ; zcat ../initrd.img | cpio
 -id'
To recreate it having made changes, 'find | cpio -o -H newc | gzip -9 >
 ../initrd.img'

Further 802.11 interoperability testing would be useful. I've been seeing
strange behaviour from the wireless device on my test unit (it isn't
always detected on the USB bus, doesn't always load its firmware
successfully, and doesn't always associate successfully), but I think this
might be the unit which Richard rejected yesterday for suspend/resume
testing because the wireless was malfunctioning.

If we could manage to send these packets from another libertas device,
 that would be really useful.
