Comment:

 The current activation code checks only the 'first' USB device.  I should
 probably have it attempt a small number of devices, although if you use an
 external hub you could theoretically have up to 255 devices attached.
 Should we enumerate them all?  The "real" solution is to use something
 like udev, but so far I've resisted the urge to add a complete hotplug
 system to the initrd.
