Comment:

 You should actually map *both*, to allow the user to use whichever feels
 more comfortable.  The basic problem is that 'down arrow' is irreversible,
 and the design of the d-pad makes it very easy to press down when you mean
 'left' or 'right'.  The discrete buttons on the right hand side don't have
 this problem.

 O should be a synonym for 'up', 'X' for down, etc.

 Further, the buttons should rotate with the screen, so that I can play the
 game left-handed in ebook mode.
