Comment:

I think it's clear that we won't have customized insert palettes for
various media formats by FRS. Is it realistic to implement a sugarized
palette that follows all the guidelines and presents a journal-like view
of objects with the ability to search/filter, with only objects of the
mime types specified by the activity included in the list?

If we can get at least a basic implementation in place, we can extend it
later, automatically providing the other media specific palettes whenever
the list of mime-types is a subset of some list of well known media
formats, eg. an activity that specifies PNG, JPG, and TIF could later be
given an image palette with thumbnails without needing to change their
 code.
