 Here is an even easier way to make it fail:

   ok  test /flash  many

 You can watch the passes with:

   ok  test /flash  ." ."  many

 On my system, that causes a shutdown after about 2 passes.

 The /flash selftest basically just calculates a CRC on the SPI FLASH data,
 which means that it has to read the entire SPI FLASH.

 This command, which just copies SPI FLASH to RAM, also causes a shutdown:

   ok  fff0.0000 10.0000 10.0000 move  ." ." many

 This is further evidence of the "EC instruction starvation" hypothesis.
