Comment:

 I changed OFW to use EC port 6c commands to read the battery status.  That
 seems to work.

 It appears that the Lithium battery presence information is in bit 0 of EC
 RAM location  0xfaa4, according to an email from David Lin.

 It would have been nice if somebody had told me that earlier.
