Comment:

 The true mesh design which we've now had for several weeks is
 substantially different than that which exists now, at a design level.
 For the most part, the network aspect should be simpler. You should
 ''not'' ever see an icon for a mesh portal or access point in home view
 unless you are connected to it. While I admit that it's unconventional to
 go to a view like the mesh to find your access point, this is the sole way
 we intend to provide this functionality on the laptops. Hopefully the
 lack of an icon in home when there is no connection will make this
 clearer. Also, hopefully in most cases, the kids won't actually need to
 manually connect at all (They'll never have to manually connect to mesh;
 often they will automatically connect to an access point such as the
 school server, or at least have connectivity via the mesh itself.)

 I think the most important thing to take from this ticket is that the new
 mesh design I mentioned above needs to be integrated ASAP. The visual
 design for the access points and mesh portals, as well as at least a basic
 search field are must-haves. I also need to get some of the new design
 documents back into the laptop experience section of the HIG, which is
 somewhat out of date.
