#1372: A-test board ~7 seconds cycling between text mode and x windows after
olpc385_b87.zip update
-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------

     Type:  defect           |      Status:  new
 Priority:  normal           |   Milestone:  Untriaged
Component: x window system | Keywords:
-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------
 Automatic Reinstallation Image olpc385_b87.zip on A-test board
 (QTFACA62000385).[[BR]]
 Build 835 is written to A-test onboard flash.

 1. Opening graphical white screen of OFW:[[BR]]

 "OLPC A-test, 128 MB memory Installed[[BR]]
 OpenFirmware CL1 Q2B87...[[BR]]
 Boot device: /nandflash:\boot\olpc.fth  Arguments:[[BR]]
 Boot device: /nandflash:\boot\vmlinuz Arguments: ro root=mtd0
 rootfstype=jffs2
 console=ttyS0,115200 console=tty0 fbcon=font:SUN12x22"

 2. Linux boots in framebuffer mode as shown by a penguin in upper left
 corner. The video mode appears at lower resolution than the OFW opening
 screen.

 3. Linux console mode login is available briefly before it attempts to
 start X (Samsung SyncMaster 152N LCD screen turned dark black). It would
 cycle between these two modes every 7 seconds continuously.

 4. The Linux login looks like this at first:

 "OLPC build 385 (stream development; variant devel_jffs2)
 Kernel 2.6.21-20070406.2.olpc.051789d5548a5a3 on an i586

 xo-00-08-F3 login:"

 But after a few cycling, it shows:

 "xo-00-08-F3 login: [   201.429821] JFFS2 warnings: (1711)
 jffs2_sum_write_sumnode: Not enough space for summary, padsize = -483"

 (However, it is not reproducible. Message does not reappear after reboot)

 5. Can login, run python, vi, top, and etc but screen cycling still go on.
 Can shutdown system with halt.
