Comment:

 The noise problem fixed by Fred and Mitch (see 4/24/07 comment) was
 definitely contributing to some complaints attached to this ticket.

 Since there are other camera noise issues as well, I created another
 ticket (#1360) which should be closed when the Linux driver reflects the
 fix for the speckle problem.

 This ticket should be kept open and assigned to hardware until we either
 ensure that the remaining noise problems (which are much more visible in
 low light conditions) are either shown to have been eliminated by the
 supplier or fixed in another way.
