 We have a lot of problems using the laptops in ebook mode -- we can't read
 books, browse websites, etc.  How about making the left-hand directional
 pad move the mouse cursor by default, with apps free to overload it to do
 something else if they want to?

 We'd also need a way to click the mouse button while in ebook mode. I
 think this would make the difference between ebook mode being useful vs.
 being not useful for the moment.

 Not sure who to assign this to.
