 I think I was capturing video. I'm not really sure though, because
 confusing icons have taken the place of localization. I'd chosen the right
 of two icons in the upper left, which looks kind of like an old-style
 video camera, then clicked the eye icon below the live picture.

 The live picture went black for a good while, making me suspect the app
 had died. Then I got live pictures again. I let it run for a bit. I think
 I then clicked the live picture button a second time.

 I got an icon marked to look like a frame of old-style movie film, and
 then the live image display died. Where the live image display belongs I
 now see heavy bold black text (looks like the Cooper font) on a white
 background which says:

 "please restart the camera activity to take more pictures & shoot more
 videos"

 I suppose the engine crashed...? In any case, restarting should never be
 needed.

 This is OS build 385. The OOM killer did not activate according to dmesg.
