 Yes, we should make most apps work.

 And I believe we should bother to maintain cultural compatibility with
 what's been done as much as possible in how we implement things.  I was
 not suggesting we wait for discussions, just make design decisions in a
 way that can enable others to be inter operable; this is in our interest
 to maximize the software useful to us.
