#1275: OFW JFFS2 handler doesn't support RTIME compression
---------------------------------+------------------------------------------
Reporter: wmb at firmworks.com | Owner: wmb at firmworks.com
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: blocker | Milestone: BTest-3
Component: ofw - open firmware | Keywords:
---------------------------------+------------------------------------------
JFFS2 has two different kinds of compression in common use - zlib and
rtime. The OFW JFFS2 handler does not support the latter. rtime
compression is much less commonly encountered in the kinds of files that
OFW normally boots, but it does show up sometimes, so OFW needs to support
it.
There is also a bug in OFW JFFS2 block caching, which results in failures
to map the entire filesystem in the case where the first erase block on
the NAND FLASH does not have a summary node.
