 I tried three times in a row from cold boot, run camera, run etoys from
 donut view. Starting etoys takes a bit longer than usual because the
 camera activity takes up some CPU time, but it worked every single time I
 tried.

 Etoys does not even load the V4L plugin before you manually create a Video
 View, so I'd be really suprised if merely starting etoys indeed would
 interfere with the cam activity.
