 I tested this out on an older btest, and got the same noise.  I also tried
 an older kernel driver; the image was tinted blue, and there was still
 noise, but the noise appeared (at least to my eyes) a lot better.

 The older driver used ovcamchip rather than the specific ov7670 driver.
 Given this, I believe it's mostly a driver issue.  Jon, any ideas what
 might be causing this?  I'll be playing around w/ it more tomorrow in an
 attempt to figure out what specifically might be causing it.
