Comment (by lorenzen):

 Short story

 1) build-182 will not boot from "LinuxBIOS-2.0.0.0Fallback Thu Sep 28
 14:17:57 BRT 2006"
    It loops as I described above, I guess the original report falls in
 this category

 2) build-182 boots on OFW Q2A11 (glad we got the version numbers in) but X
 does
    not work

 3) OFW Q2A23 will brick an Atest board.

 Long story:

 I thought I would try the newest OFW firmware to see if everything would
 be fine.
 BAD idea, The machine never comes alive, this is how far it comes looking
 at the
 log on the serial console:
 {{{
 .done cpuRegInit
                 NOTDOING ChipsetFlashSetup()!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 do_vsmbios
 Call real_mode_switch_call_vsm
 cs5536: southbridge_enable: dev is 0000cee0
 cs5536: southbridge_enable: dev is 0000d180
 cs5536: southbridge_enable: dev is 0000d420
 cs5536: southbridge_enable: dev is 0000d6c0
 cs5536: southbridge_enable: dev is 0000d960
 cs5536: southbridge_enable: dev is 0000dc00
 cs5536: cs5536_pci_dev_enable_resources()
 cs5536: southbridge_init
 }}}

 Using Mitchs spirecovery I got the board back on Q2A11 firmware
 (it took a lot of tries though, but I finaly made it)
