Comment (by khassounah):

Shina from Leapsoft did an amazing job and supplied us with the xkb files
for the major Nigerian languages to be supported on the Laptop. Attached
to this bug is the symbol file he created, and following is his
 description of what he provided:

Please find attached our keymap for Nigerian languages. One size fits all,
it includes all the diacritics, and other modifiers necessary for one to
type in any of the Languages. To add modifiers to the character, you press
the character first, and then add the diacritic or dotbelow, by pressing
the Alt Gr (right hand side of the space bar) key, and then the desired
diacritic. Diacritic modifiers AFTER you type the letter.
Some letters, like the special k in hausa, you obtain by pressing Alt Gr
and the desired letter together. you just include the keymap into
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/symbols/pc/ and either load it with setxkbmap
 "ng",
or in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf define the option
Option "XkbLayout" "foo" replacing foo with the keymap name (in our case,
 ng).
