Old description:

 We should set the AllowMouseOpenFail option

Comment:

 The other possible fix is the hot plug work that recently got committed to
 X.org head.  We should try and see if this alternative fixes it.

 However, we should do the AllowMouseOpenFail in the meanwhile, as this
 bites people on developer boards
